Two further shareholders: IIoT platform ADAMOS is growing
• Engel Austria and KARL MAYER new shareholders in the ADAMOS GmbH joint venture
• Strategic IIoT alliance enhances strong position in machinery and plant engineering
Bietigheim-Bissingen, March 6, 2018 –
The joint venture for the open digital IIoT platform ADAMOS (ADAptive Manufacturing Open Solutions) has gained two additional shareholders: Engel Austria GmbH and the KARL MAYER Group. This strategic alliance for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) was established by Dürr, DMG MORI, Software AG, ZEISS and ASM PT and is available around the world with 200 experts.
Ralf W. Dieter, CEO of Dürr AG: “With the accession of these two new mechanical engineering companies, we are making further progress in our efforts to establish ADAMOS as an industry standard. Together, we have an installed base of several hundreds of thousands of machines and systems. In this way, we are advancing with our customers in the digital world with great momentum.”
With sales revenues of EUR 1.36 billion, Engel Austria is one of the leading plastics processing machine manufacturers and the global market leader in injection-mold equipment. KARL MAYER is an innovative market leader in textile machine building and offers solutions for warp knitting and warp preparation for weaving as well as for technical textiles.
All seven companies are contributing extensive industry knowledge and innovative IT expertise to ADAMOS. The IIoT platform is comparable to the operating system of a computer and collects large volumes of production data. Digital marketplaces providing the interface with the machinery operators are developed using ADAMOS as a basis.
The Dürr Group offers two digital marketplaces LOXEO (for Dürr and Schenk customers) and tapio (for HOMAG customers). Using LOXEO and tapio, plant operators can evaluate data, map their production activities digitally and purchase digital services and apps, e.g. for predictive maintenance, adaptive production planning or the management of operating materials. This helps to optimize production and maintenance.
The Dürr Group is one of the world's leading mechanical and plant engineering firms with extensive automation expertise. Products, systems and services offered by the Group enable highly efficient manufacturing processes in different industries. Dürr supplies sectors like the automotive industry, the mechanical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and the woodworking industry. The company has 92 business locations in 31 countries. The Group generated sales of € 3.72 billion in 2017. Dürr has around 15,000 employees and operates in the market with five divisions:
