Dürr Supplier Award presented for second time

Bietigheim-Bissingen, October 26, 2016 - The Dürr Group has recognized its best suppliers for the second time with the Dürr Supplier Award. The nominees included suppliers to Dürr and its Schenck RoTec subsidiary but also, for the first time, suppliers to the HOMAG Group, which was acquired in 2014. The award ceremony took place on October 24, 2016 during the Suppliers’ Day, which formed part of the company’s Open House. In its awards, the international mechanical and plant engineering group honors partners who make an important contribution to the Group’s long-term corporate success by means of their innovations, the quality of their products, and their commitment to maintaining reliable delivery performance and costs. The winners are: KEBA AG, Minimax GmbH & Co. KG and Mecawel spol. s r.o.

“We make high demands of our suppliers because they contribute to our success with our customers. Treating each other respectfully as equals is a very important factor in this regard for us,” declared Ralph Heuwing, Dürr AG’s CFO, who is responsible for procurement on the Board of Management. “As a growth-focused company, we need reliable partners who will be at our side in our global operations. The Dürr Supplier Award is our way of underlining our relationship with strategically important suppliers and thanking them for the quality of their collaboration with us.”

The Dürr Supplier Award is presented in the categories “Innovation & Technology”, “Global Partner” and “Quality & Reliability”, with the 32 best suppliers being nominated. Several of them had previously also been nominated when the awards were first made back in 2014.

About the winners:
In the “Innovation & Technology” category the award went to KEBA AG. This company from Linz, Austria is an innovative development partner assisting Dürr with high-performance control technology for the new generation of robots.

Minimax GmbH & Co. KG from Bad Oldesloe, Germany received the “Global Partner” award. This globally operating supplier of fire protection systems for paint shops and buildings meets Dürr’s international requirements in outstanding way.

The recipient of the “Quality & Reliability” award was Mecawel spol. s r.o., which is the largest single supplier to the HOMAG Group and has been reliably supplying assemblies, individual components and complete machines for some 25 years. This makes the company from Nekor, Czech Republic one of the Dürr subsidiary’s key partners.

The Dürr Group is one of the world’s leading mechanical and plant engineering companies. Dürr products, systems and services provide the basis for highly efficient production processes in different industries. Business with automotive OEMs and components suppliers generates roughly 60% of its sales revenues. Other sectors which Dürr addresses include mechanical engineering, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and – following the acquisition of the HOMAG Group in October 2014 – the woodworking industry. Dürr has 92 business locations in 28 countries. With just under 15,000 employees, the Group generated sales of € 3.77 billion in 2015. The Group operates in the market via five divisions:

  • Paint and Final Assembly Systems: paintshops and final assembly systems for the automotive industry
  • Application Technology: robot technologies for the automated application of paint, sealants and adhesives
  • Measuring and Process Systems: balancing and cleaning equipment as well as testing and filling technology
  • Clean Technology Systems: exhaust-air purification systems and energy efficiency technology
